What is OpenComputer?
Each OpenComputer session runs on a real Linux virtual machine with its own filesystem, network, packages, and process space. Unlike short-lived containers, the environments can remain persistent, hibernate while idle, resume later, and support checkpoints, forks, and live CPU and memory resizing.
The platform can run shell commands, install packages, clone repositories, execute browsers, run development tools, process files, and connect to external services. Developers can use OpenComputer's managed agent runtime or access the underlying sandbox infrastructure directly through its SDK and CLI.
OpenComputer also provides secret management and origin-bound credentials so agents can use external services without exposing the underlying credentials to the sandbox. Managed sessions include streaming, durable event logs, scheduling, webhooks, and deployment/version management.
