What is PhoText?
Its primary feature allows users to upload an image, automatically detect text, click the text they want to change, and replace it while preserving characteristics such as font, color, size, positioning, shadows, perspective, and the surrounding background.
PhoText combines OCR, AI semantic understanding, background reconstruction, font matching, and style matching to make text replacement blend into the original image. The platform is designed for use cases such as screenshots, posters, product images, labels, advertisements, certificates, tickets, and other graphics containing editable text.
The platform supports conversational AI image editing. Instead of manually selecting and removing text, users can describe the desired change—for example, changing a displayed price or removing an object—and the AI performs the requested modification.
PhoText also provides traditional direct-editing controls. Users can select detected text and adjust the replacement text's font, size, color, alignment, spacing, and other visual properties when additional manual control is required.
Its AI Font Matching capability identifies fonts appearing in uploaded images and helps users select visually similar fonts from the platform's font library.
The platform provides image-to-text OCR as a separate tool. Users can upload photos, screenshots, scans, or PDF pages and extract recognized text while preserving line breaks and reading order. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, JPEG, WEBP, BMP, and PDF.
PhoText also supports image translation. Text can be translated into more than 100 languages while retaining the original image layout, font styling, and visual positioning.
Beyond text editing, the AI Image Editor supports object removal and replacement, watermark removal, background modifications, color changes, style transfer, photo enhancement, old-photo restoration, high-resolution upscaling, portrait retouching, and reference-image compositing.
The platform includes specialized workflows for e-commerce product images, allowing users to update prices, promotional text, coupons, selling points, and campaign labels without recreating the entire product graphic.
It also offers a dedicated poster text editor for changing titles, subtitles, dates, locations, prices, registration information, and other poster content while maintaining the original visual layout.
PhoText extends beyond images into PDF workflows. Its PDF Text Editor uses document-structure parsing and OCR to allow users to modify text while attempting to preserve the original PDF format and layout.
The platform additionally provides utility tools including image resizing, image-to-PDF conversion, PDF-to-image conversion, photo scanning, and other image-processing functions. Its image-to-PDF converter can process files locally in the browser without uploading them to a server.
PhoText is designed for both desktop and mobile browser usage, with an intentionally simplified interface aimed at users without professional graphic-design skills. Its stated workflow is essentially upload, edit, and download rather than working through complex layers and retouching operations.
