What is Radius?
Radius allows developers to run Claude Code, Codex and Cursor Agent directly inside browser tabs using the accounts and subscriptions they already have. Radius itself does not require a separate AI-agent subscription.
The browser treats different development surfaces as tabs, including coding-agent sessions, terminals, diff viewers, pull requests, documentation, dashboards and localhost servers. Developers can organize these tabs into project-oriented Spaces and worktree-based tab groups.
Radius is designed to support parallel development workflows. Agents can work in separate worktrees while developers keep related code, terminal output, documentation, PRs and local applications accessible in the same workspace. The product also provides a CLI for scripting browser windows, tabs, groups, splits and other workspace operations.
The Radius CLI is available as the npm package @sandbox-technologies/radius-cli. The package supports macOS and Node.js 20 or newer and provides commands for controlling Radius windows, tabs and other browser workspace components.
Radius is built on Chromium, so websites and web applications behave similarly to those in a modern Chromium browser. The current product supports macOS only, with downloads available for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
The product follows a local-first architecture. Radius states that projects, source code, worktrees, browser state, terminal sessions, chat history and agent state are stored locally on the user's device by default rather than routinely uploaded to a hosted copy. When users invoke an AI agent or cloud-backed integration, relevant information may be transmitted to the selected provider.
