What is Zinc?
Its product-data APIs provide live product information including images, prices, availability, ratings, specifications, variants, and seller offers. Developers can search across retailers and compare available products before selecting an offer to purchase.
The ordering API allows an application or AI agent to submit a product URL, shipping address, quantity, and maximum price. Zinc handles the retailer checkout process and returns an order ID. A max_price ceiling provides price protection: if the final purchase exceeds the specified limit, the order fails rather than spending more than authorized.
Zinc also manages the post-purchase lifecycle. Its infrastructure normalizes retailer and carrier events into a unified order timeline, provides webhooks for events such as order placement, tracking, delivery, cancellation, and returns, and can generate return labels and initiate returns programmatically.
A major focus of Zinc's current platform is AI-agent commerce. AI agents can search hundreds of millions of products, make purchases, follow shipments, and initiate returns through Zinc's APIs and MCP integration. Zinc also provides an agent-oriented checkout skill and a sandbox for testing purchasing workflows without placing real orders.
