What is EditBuddy?
The Premiere Pro-native panel can detect and remove silences, identify repeated takes, remove filler words, generate animated word-level captions, place relevant B-roll, add automatic zooms, and apply background music. The resulting edits remain fully editable as real clips, cuts, and keyframes on the original Premiere Pro timeline.
EditBuddy also provides a Long → Shorts workflow that identifies potentially engaging moments from long-form footage, reframes them to 9:16, and creates editable Shorts sequences. Its Podcast Editor can synchronize multicamera footage for up to eight speakers and automatically cut between speakers, while also generating teasers and trailers from the same timeline.
The software runs on Windows and macOS and supports Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 or newer. Unlike upload-based AI video editors, EditBuddy is designed to operate directly inside the Premiere Pro project, avoiding an export-and-reimport workflow.
AI processing uses compressed audio and transcript information, and in some cases vocabulary hints or low-resolution frames. The original video files, audio files, and Premiere Pro project remain on the user's machine according to EditBuddy's FAQ.
